Apple profits up on iPhone sales

Apple has showed no signs of being hit by the recession, as it has a surge for its iphones desktops and laptops.

The technology giant made a net profit of $1.67bn (£1bn) in the three months to 26 September, up 47% on a year earlier. Sales rose 25% to $9.87bn.

Millions tricked by 'scareware'

Online criminals are making millions of pounds by tricking the public to download fake anti-virus software, internet security experts claim today.

Symantec says over 40 million people have fallen for the "scareware scam" in the past 12 months.

The "anti-virus" download is harmful to your computer and criminals can sometimes use it to get the victim's credit card details.
